Situation Before Using GolePOS
The independent bookstore located in the heart of Manhattan was using a traditional POS terminal that often crashed during high-traffic periods. The staff was unable to access real-time inventory or manage transactions efficiently, leading to long checkout lines. The owner wanted a more modern, compact solution that would integrate easily with their online store, handle multiple payment methods, and free up counter space.
After consultations with the GolePOS team, the owner decided to go with a 15.6-inch touchscreen tablet with a 1920×1200 IPS resolution to offer a large enough display for ease of use, while still fitting comfortably on the counter. The tablet was equipped with multiple USB ports and HDMI, enabling the connection to a barcode scanner and receipt printer.
After Installation
The 15.6-inch tablet was installed on a VESA-compatible wall-mounted bracket, allowing for more counter space and easy viewing for both the cashier and the customer. The tablet’s Windows 11 operating system allowed seamless integration with the bookstore’s existing software, and the NFC and Bluetooth features made transactions faster and more secure.
The bookstore owner reported significant improvements in customer service, citing a smoother, faster checkout process and the ability to handle more customers at once.
