Applications for Fine Dinning #1
Situation Before Using GolePOS
A fine dining restaurant in Rome’s Trastevere district was using an old POS system that frequently malfunctioned during peak dining hours, leading to slow service and frustrated customers. The system also lacked integration with the restaurant’s reservation and ordering system, making it difficult for waitstaff to track orders and bill customers accurately. The restaurant owner sought a compact, reliable, and efficient system that could be integrated into their existing setup and improve both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
After discussing the restaurant’s needs, the decision was made to opt for a 10.1-inch tablet with a 1920×1200 IPS display for clear, vibrant visuals that would allow waitstaff to easily take orders at tables. The tablet’s Windows 11 operating system was chosen for compatibility with their existing software.
After Installation
The 10.1-inch tablet was mounted on a slim countertop stand, allowing easy access for servers. The multiple USB 3.0 ports allowed integration with a receipt printer and card reader, and the Wi-Fi connection ensured real-time synchronization with the kitchen display system. The Bluetooth functionality enabled wireless communication with portable POS devices for payment processing at the table.
The restaurant owner was impressed with how the tablet streamlined order-taking and billing. The waitstaff could easily take and send orders directly to the kitchen, and customers enjoyed faster checkout with mobile payment options. The system also eliminated the need for bulky registers, saving valuable counter space. The low energy consumption helped keep operating costs low while ensuring reliable performance during long shifts.
